Hard work - honesty - bear rehabilitation/care - behavioral research - real money figures/accountability ; Is what  I/Dawn L. Brown focus my attention on! Note: I run my business! I am honest to the best of my human ability and because of that - believe me - I fear pretty much No One! Hope that is understood!

Me & My Husband Michael have resided/lived in New Sharon Maine full time since 1989/1990. We are thankful to be land owners ,and have paid/pay for it + I/We pay taxes , and many other cost ,and continue to pay, and have worked very hard. We absolutely love it here it is home, and we manage our private land, and are grateful for so much!!  I am thankful to own 5 acres, along with my husband , and to have it fenced in for my bears. I have been a Maine wildlife rehabilitator & researcher/observer for 20 years. My husband Is Not a wildlife rehabiltator, and if you were to ask him if he has ever even bottle fed a bear cub his answerer is No,and Note:  I do most all of the care and chores to do with my bears 95+ %  of the time, and I do 100% of the books,....  He clearly knows that and he also knows  I greatly appreciate him  for helping me work on my 5 acre bear facility my dream, and the continuous upkeep ; although it should be noted: that I do allot of the upkeep now myself , and believe me my husband understands why that is, and I have feeling I don't have to explain myself to others out there - whom know what I have had to go through.

I am very thankful for so much , but I get frustrated from time to time for very good reasons. Note:  I get tired of repeating myself to entities, government, and others for where  I feel like I am talking to a brick wall at times. There will come a day that I will  not be silent anymore. So my suggestion to some out there is to set the record straight and not tread on me.

I feel truly blessed overall to have one of the largest "Bear Facilities in the Country" but it is Important to know that it is I,  that monitor the bears in my facility extensively , and witness what I see and document , and though I have had some things happen - sadly - though few losses -  I do not believe there is anyone out there whom cares for, and observes bears any better than I /nor could ever be anymore thorough than I am - ever . It has been a great deal of hard work over the years and continues,as well as being even a task at times ,but that is more from dealing with the system/society at times.

Moments I have with these bears from caring for ,observation are  some of the most happiest moments in my life ,and truly  believe  God had a purpose  for me , and that was to care for and learn from these amazing animals.

Watch video - go to this link. It sure has been alot of work and thought throughout the years. I have got to say - That we were not guided in the construction - We had a great deal of knowledge with past experiences. I cant say that we didn't have a few glitches in the process, but being hands on working ;that is what guided us to figure it out on our own. I am blessed to have one of the largest bear facilities in the Country.

Fence businesses: good products - with very helpful tips/advise. Wellscroft ; I can remember ordering from over 25 years ago for when I/we had red deer. I continued to order products from them - when I wanted to have a large facility for bears,as well as other fence companies whom are very knowledgeable and experts in the fence industry. I have to say when we fenced in my bear facilities is has been a learning experience all on its own - you figure things out often as you go ,and what makes the process easier and efficient.
